It has been this way pretty much since we moved here three years ago.
I would love to make some changes, but it probably won't happen for awhile.
I'd like to have a new rug that is bright and maybe has a touch of black in it (since it will be connecting to my dining room).
Not sure what color just yet.
This is the view from my front door.
This light... bless it's heart. :)
I'm just not sure what to do with her.
The brass metal shades have.got.to.go.
Don't know whether to try to paint them, replace them, or nix the lamp altogether.
Do you see those dark spots on the ceiling over the lights?
Can't figure out if they are shadows or dark spots literally on there due to the lights.
Weird.
Well, I hope you have enjoyed the little tour of my entry way.
I just love the tone an entry way sets for the house.
Maybe I need to work on these projects sooner rather than later. :)

It's all very pretty Crystal. I love your color scheme, very warm and inviting.
I think your chandie is pretty...I would paint those shades. I bet the bulbs are getting too hot. I would use those new candle lights in it...the metal of the shade is also conducting heat. Your foyer is gorgeous and a touch of black would be wonderful. In fact, if it were mine, I would do those shades in black...leave the rest as it is...stunning!
Nice entry, Crystal! I love the light you get in through the door. I'm sure you'll get what you want done. I'd probably try painting the light fixture before getting a new one. Maybe Oil Rubbed Bronze {spray paint}.
Im with Kathy on the light I would ORB it.As for the table in the entry way I would go black paint or maybe a darker stain. But if you dont mind white that seems to be the thing just not for me lol Whatever you do im sure it will turn out great!
What a lovely entryway, I'd do the ceiling fixture black too it would tie in with your diningroom table. I'd also paint the table in your entryway black too or white with a bit of black glaze! Thanks for stopping by!

Your entry is gorgeous. I love the chest and you have such a pretty vignette on it. Love the chandy. I would keep it. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
Your entryway is spacious and lovely. :D
Super cute entry way!
Such a lovely home. I love all the vintage furniture - especially that piece in the corner with the crystal knobs - swoon!
xoxo,
Kim
Oops, they're not crystal! (Just snuk another peek!), but I'm still swooning over here and I think I just drooled all over my keyboard!
Hi Crystal-
I love your front door - so open to let all the light in. I truly wish I had one like that. Your foyer looks so inviting.
I don't think you should paint the metal lampshades -since metal conducts heat - the paint will just peel and crack. Check out Lowes and Home Depot - they have so many light fixtures to choose from that will go with your decor.
My best- Diane
You have such a pretty light filled entry! The chandelier just might be fabulous with some paint and new shades...you have nothing to lose. Good luck!

Beautiful entry. The table, in my opinion, would look gorgeous being painted the same color as the mirror frame above it. But, you have got some serious skills... anything you paint it will look amazing. :) Also, the black is actual burns. Your watt may be too high, or it's too close to the ceiling. My Mom had the same problem.
Nice entry way, Crystal. I would paint that light fixture either black or bronze and then just get some new shades for it. Not sure what color you want the table done in, but if you want it fun do a bold color.
I love everything about your entry! cute wreath and i love birdhouses and willow tree figurines!!!
Maybe for the table you can leave it wood on top and do a color on the bottom? Thats what im planning on doing with my wood entry table.
Hello,Crystal... you have such a beautiful foyer and I'm loving all the moldings in your house.I would love to have a grand foyer like yours...you have created such a lovely vignette on your foyer table. Such a pretty chandy... love the brass and crystal combination... maybe the bulbs are too hot and making the black spots...not visible in picture though... looks like shadows to me. Pretty fabric chandelier shades will doll it up! Congratulations for being featured at Marty's TTT and thank you for your lovely comment on my Peony tea table... enjoyed reading it. Have a wonderful week!~Poppy

Your entry way is so cozy and inviting. I love the Willow Tree figurine as well. : ).. And that basket by the door? Love it!
Now this just goes to show.... I'm looking at your entry way and thinking it looks great. Warm, inviting, and you want to change it. OK, I'd let the light fixture go, and maybe I would paint the table too just for schitzengiggles, but really it's very homey.
